One in four patients will not find a match. Overview Leukemia is cancer of the blood. More than half a million Americans currently have leukemia. Every nine minutes, leukemia takes a life. Although it’s more common in adults, leukemia causes more childhood deaths than any other disease. Eligibility Donors must be between 18 and 55 years of age and healthy.
